GYO TO HOST THE DUKES OF DIXIELAND AT TILLES CENTER ON APRIL 11, 2010
Gemini Youth Orchestras will play host to the amazing Dukes of Dixieland in a special concert on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 5:30 & 7:00 PM. All GYO groups will participate in an All-American concert, with the Gemini Youth Symphony and certain other musicians backing the Dukes themselves.
New Orleans' Own Dukes of Dixieland are a six-piece traditional dixieland jazz group formed in 1974 by producer John Shoup. They have performed with the Syracuse Symphony, the Charleston Symphony, the New World Symphony and many other orchestral groups over the years. You can sample some of their albums here.
This exciting event will feature moderate ticket prices. Everyone is invited to attend, and group discounts will be available. The Dukes always bring down the house, so make sure you are are there for the fun! Let the good times roll!!
