MURPHY AWARD INSTITUTED BY GYO: Thanks to the generosity of Huntington luthier Robert Murphy, Gemini Youth Orchestras has launched a program that we believe is unprecedented: the annual gift of a fine European stringed instrument to a Gemini Youth Orchestras participant, designated by its board of directors, who has demonstrated both high artistic ability and financial need. The initial recipient of a 1960's vintage German viola, compete with case, bow, and accessories, is Stephan Garamy, a member of the Gemini Youth Symphony. Congratulations to Stephan and our heartfelt thanks to Bob Murphy.
