At Gemini Youth...
...we believe that music is one of the most eloquent expressions of our common humanity and that developing this expression in our children is not only engaging and exciting, but can also provide the fundamental building blocks for a successful and rewarding life, both in and out of the arts!
Gemini Youth musicians have the opportunity to work with internationally acclaimed conductors, composers, and coaches in a positive community environment that fosters creativity and leadership. Gemini is actually the only Long Island youth orchestra society directed by a full-time professional conductor! The GYO continually performs in such prestigious NYC venues as the Lincoln Center and Symphony Space, in addition to LI venues including the Tilles Center, the John Adams Playhouse (Hofstra Univ.), and the newly engineered Concert Hall at the Adelphi Performing Arts Center.
In addition to first-rate ensemble music-making, Gemini musicians experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to travel and perform abroad! The GYO 2011 Summer Tour included performances in Paris, Turnhout, and Amsterdam, as well as exciting tours of Bruges and Antwerp, plus as an inside look at European culture and customs.
